Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use Slashbooks at slashbooks.co. Slashbooks is provided by Lower Coast Labs, LLC (“Slashbooks”, “we”). If you use Slashbooks for a firm or a business, you agree for that organization and you confirm that you can do so. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
The service
Slashbooks is bookkeeping software for accounting firms and small businesses. AI agents prepare the books, reports and questions, and people review and approve them. Slashbooks does not hold your money and cannot move money. Bank and Stripe connections are read-only, and we do not take payments through Stripe.
QuickBooks Online connections
When available, a company admin can authorize Slashbooks to import and refresh QuickBooks Online records and reports for ongoing bookkeeping review, reconciliation, report comparisons and category suggestions. You must have authority to connect that QuickBooks company. Slashbooks does not write changes back to QuickBooks. Review imported data, comparisons and suggestions before relying on them.
Disconnecting stops syncs and removes saved connection credentials from our active systems. Imported data stays with your Slashbooks company until you delete it under the process below. Our Privacy Policy explains the data collected, AI processing, access revocation and retention. QuickBooks availability and data depend on Intuit and your authorization.
Accounts and roles
- Firms set up client businesses, invite accountants and clients, and control which clients each accountant can see.
- Businesses and clients can use Slashbooks directly or through a firm. A company admin can invite people, connect sources and delete the company.
- Accountants work on the clients they are assigned to.
Give us correct information and keep your sign-in secure. Use a strong password and turn on a passkey or two-step sign-in. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at once at hi@slashbooks.co if you think someone else used it. Invite only people who need access, and remove people who leave.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or use Slashbooks for fraud, money laundering or to hide income;
- try to reach another company’s data, or test or probe our systems without our written permission;
- share credentials, or bypass sign-in, rate limits or credit limits;
- send malicious files, or email or documents written to trick the AI agents;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, except as the law allows;
- use the service in a way that harms others or the reliability of the service.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules or puts others at risk.
Your data and our license to process it
You keep all rights to the data you bring to Slashbooks: your books, files, emails and reports. You give us a limited license to host, process, copy and display that data, and to send it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy, only to provide the service to you. You promise that you have the right to give us this data, including data about your clients, and that you have any consent your own clients or law require. If you are a firm, you are responsible for your agreement with your clients.
AI outputs and tax disclaimer
AI agents can make mistakes. Everything they produce is a draft: categories, entries, reports, tax exports and messages. You, or your accounting firm, must review the output before you rely on it, file it or send it to anyone. You are responsible for the books you approve, close or publish.
Tax exports carry this notice: Draft for review. Prepared from the data in these books only. It is not tax advice and does not replace preparation or review by a qualified tax professional. Slashbooks is not a public accounting firm and does not give tax, legal or investment advice.
If you connect your own AI agent to your books, you decide what it can do within the access you grant, and you are responsible for its actions.
Fees and AI credits
Slashbooks is in beta and does not charge today. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice before any charge starts. In the future, AI automations may use credits. Plans limit the number of businesses you can keep active. When credits run out, new AI work waits until credits are added, and books, reports and answers still work.
Ending the service and getting your data back
- You can export your reports and data as CSV and XLSX at any time while your books are open.
- A company admin can delete a company. A 72-hour wait applies before the deletion is confirmed, and then we remove the company’s data. Backup copies expire within 35 days, and an off-site backup copy, when enabled, within 70 days.
- If a plan ends with a refund, the books become read-only for 30 days so you can export them. After that, deletion follows the normal process.
- We may suspend or end your access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms.
Sections that by their nature should continue after the service ends will continue, including disclaimers, liability and governing law.
Disclaimers
Slashbooks is in beta and is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be error-free or always available, or that AI output is correct or complete. Bank and Stripe data depend on outside providers and can be late or wrong.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Slashbooks’ total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if you paid nothing. Slashbooks is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. AI output is a draft that a person reviews. You or your firm are responsible for the books you approve and file.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and the courts located in Delaware will hear any dispute. Before you start a claim, write to hi@slashbooks.co so that we can try to resolve it.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will post the new terms here and update the date above.
